Celebrating the Little Things this Holiday Season

Here at Juniper Village, we recognize that it is the little things that make
the holidays special.  During the past few weeks the residents used their
creativity to make holiday decorations for the building. They made an
assortment of different ornaments to put on the tree as well as decorations
to place in the individual houses. It was so much fun the staff joined in too!
The end result was a delight to see!
On the 15th of Dec we hosted our family holiday party. We enjoyed amazing
food and live entertainment.  We sang holiday songs and danced the night away.
The families and residents enjoyed sharing the holiday spirit.  We wish you
and your family time the best this holiday season as we all celebrate the
little things!

Our new look!

In November we started the full building remodel that includes new floors, paint and furniture. In the display case by the front door you will find boards made to reflect all the beautiful changes that will give our building a whole new look. To date we have completed Mountain house with new flooring and paint. It looks amazing! The other houses are making progress every day. We hope to have all the carpet down by the end of the week.

During our remodel some of our residents were able to observe and supervise. Allen took this job on and did lots of serious thinking. He wants to make sure his new home looks in tip top shape. Thanks Allen!

Join us in our efforts to support our local Community. 100% of your donation will stay local.  To inquire about volunteering for the food drive, please call
Stop by Juniper Village to see our progress and warm up with a cup of complimentary gourmet coffee for your donation.

Halloween Comes to Life at Juniper Village at Louisville

Monarch elementary school  joined us again this year for our annual  Halloween Trick-or-Treat adventure. Our residents had bowls of candy and and lots of smiles for the children. It was a fun time for all.
Our residents and our leadership team sported a woodland theme. We had themed headbands made for the residents. They all looked great.
However our leadership team went way beyond headbands!!! Just another way we "show our colors"  here at Juniper Village!

The Annual Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk

Juniper Village at Louisville sent a full team to participate in the Denver Memory Walk this year.  Part of our team however, just wasn't quite up to the task!  We found them sitting in the rain on the steps of the Denver Museum.  They had a great time anyway and our two Denver metro communities together raised over $4000.  Way to show your true colors Juniper Village at Louisville - and let's hope for nicer weather next year! Juniper Village at Louisville Celebrates their 10th Anniversary

Congratulations to the entire team at Juniper Village at Louisville!  On August 27, 2010, Juniper Village at Louisville had an incredible celebration for two reasons:  it was their 10th anniversary and they had just received their Alzheimer's Foundation of America Excellence in Caregiving award!
What does this really mean?  It means that for over 10 years, Juniper Village at Louisville has been providing the highest quality memory, in an environment that is resident focused and provides truly individualized care.  Only three memory care communities in Colorado have received the very rigorous AFA Excellence in
Caregiving certification - and one of the others is Juniper Village in Aurora.  It also means that we provide care that celebrates all seasons of life and fosters an active body, engaged mind, and fulfilled spirit.

We invite you to visit our beautiful community and join in one of our many celebrations like our anniversary and award affair.  We are known for our parties - this time the theme was "On a Safari".  We featured an Elephant Bar, wild animals in the courtyard (stuffed not real, for resident and child safety!), and even a roast pig!  Below is Kathi Hovenga, our executive director, sharing a happy moment with the pig, just before we all dug in and enjoyed the incredible buffet.  Come on down and see what excellence in care can mean for your loved one.  Juniper Village at Louisville . . . . nurturing the spirit of life in each individual we touch.
